SIGN NOW: Justice for Ember, a puppy that was set on fire and abandoned

You may know by now that we track animal cruelty cases across the globe, and when we need it, we ask for your help to get justice for abused animals.

Ember, a three-month-old black Labrador puppy, was set on fire and left for dead in San Bernardino, California, in what appears to be a deliberate act of animal cruelty, according to the city’s Animal Services Department.

The defenceless puppy endured painful injuries to her face, ears, paws, and groin — likely a result of being set on fire, said the first vet who treated her. Photos of these appalling injuries display vivid red, scorched skin where it seems her fur was deliberately ignited.

Some wounds are so severe that it appears the top layers of her skin have burned away.

The severely injured puppy was discovered abandoned in an office car park alongside another three-month-old Labrador Retriever mix puppy. Upon finding the puppies, the City of San Bernardino’s Animal Services Department immediately took them to a vet, concerned about Ember's severe injuries.

Due to the severity of her injuries, Ember has had to remain under continuous veterinary supervision, as stated by the City of San Bernardino Animal Services.

No puppy should ever have to go through the horror and agony of being set on fire and then left to die.

Our experienced team has been deeply shocked by this latest case. We are confident that you will share our outrage and join us in pursuing justice for Ember.
