We are outraged by the heartless and disturbing act of animal abuse filmed by a group of individuals who threw a cat off a bridge. This sickening incident was captured and shared on Snapchat, causing an outcry across the community.
The video shows a helpless cat being carried by one of the individuals before being thrown over the barrier into the Laugherne Brook, all while others laugh in the background. This blatant cruelty is shocking, and demands immediate action.
A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released on bail. As of now, there is no indication as to whether the cat survived the traumatic ordeal.
We, the undersigned, demand the maximum penalty for those responsible for this horrific act of animal cruelty. In addition, we believe these individuals should be required to undergo psychological counselling to address the deep-seated issues behind such violent behaviour.
Furthermore, we call for those responsible to be banned from ever keeping or caring for animals. No one who has shown such disregard for life should be allowed to own animals in the future.
