Authorities uncovered a horrific scene at an animal rescue, where they discovered the remains of at least six dogs and more than two dozen others in a state of severe neglect and starvation.
In July 2024, authorities responded to a distressing call about the property.
Upon arrival, they were met with a gruesome sight—bin bags and crates filled with dog remains, alongside 27 surviving dogs living in appalling conditions.
Among the rescued dogs was a 1½-year-old pit bull named Howler, who had been transferred to this rescue from another organisation, along with a generous donation intended for his care.
“She received Howler in April and claimed she was feeding him four cups of high-calorie food a day,” a coordinator from the original rescue told news outlets. “But when we saw him, he was the skinniest he had ever been—barely clinging to life.”
Every dog that arrived at this shelter deserved love, care, and a chance at finding a forever home. Instead, they were allegedly subjected to unimaginable neglect and abuse.
The owner of the rescue now faces six charges of animal cruelty and one count of causing unnecessary suffering to animals. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison and a substantial fine for each charge.
We need your help to ensure justice is served. Please sign our petition urging the authorities to prosecute the responsible party to the fullest extent of the law, including a lifetime ban on owning or caring for animals.
