The Turlock Police Department in California announced that they had seized more than 70 dogs from conditions they described as "deplorable and inhumane". Among the dogs were several pregnant females nearing labour.
These dogs are believed to have been potentially involved in dog fighting activities and were discovered as part of an animal cruelty investigation initiated by the department in early March.
Surveillance during the investigation identified around ten dogs chained up at the property. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a male suspect in connection with the case.
