Despite being illegal, dog fighting is happening across Europe and remains rife. This illegal activity is often associated with other forms of crime and can be deeply hidden within certain communities, making it challenging for authorities to eradicate.
We want to push for stronger enforcement of existing laws against dog fighting and advocate for more uniform regulations across the EU. We also want a EU-wide enforcement taskforce on dog fighting. We want EU member states to implement enhanced cooperation between law enforcement agencies, increase penalties for offenders, and create public awareness campaigns to underline the cruelty and illegality of dog fighting.
