These gentle creatures are being brutally targeted for entertainment, with graphic videos fuelling the spread of this sickening practice on social media.
Our investigators are working tirelessly to follow urgent leads, determined to bring the perpetrators to justice. But with our budget down 20%, we are at risk of falling short when badgers need us most.
Badger baiting is a vicious act, where dogs are sent into badger setts to trap them, while hunters dig the badgers out to be savagely torn apart by packs of dogs.
The dogs involved also suffer severe injuries—stitched up without pain relief or antibiotics—and those too injured are left to die or shot on the spot.
